Module 3 : Sustainable Agriculture to the Rescue is designed for grades 9 and up to connect ecological understanding with real-world action. Building on the foundations of Module 1 (Introduction to Grasslands) and Module 2 (History of Agriculture), this third module from Ducks Unlimited's Grassland Resource Pack focuses on innovative, sustainable farming solutions designed to support both food production and grassland conservation.
In the PowerPoint, students will learn what sustainable agriculture means in practice, how farming can adapt to conserve soil, water, and biodiversity, examples of conservation-friendly techniques, and why balancing food production with ecological health matters for Canada’s future.
Module 3: Sustainable Agriculture to the Rescue is an excellent, ready-to-use resource that supports teaching about sustainable land use, environmental stewardship, and real-world applications of science. The module could be used to support science, geography, or environmental studies units dealing with ecosystems, climate change, land use, or sustainability. As well, the module can be used on its own or with module 1 and 2.
