How Do We Meet The Growing Need For Water?

Secondary, Middle

Description

How Do We Meet The Growing Need For Water? explores key water issues, the water cycle, and some of the technology and techniques used to conserve water.

The video describes ways we consume water on earth, like agriculture, manufactures, and ecosystems. It explains how we use groundwater and how it could run out in the next 60-100 years. The video also suggests ways we can conserve water.

This video is part of a larger unit in the California Academy of Sciences' Flipside Science series: Fresh Solutions: Water Use and Conservation. The resource provides discussion questions and support materials to accompany the video.

General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

This video would be excellent to introduce the idea of the water cycle and our water use. It would also be a great way to have students then discuss/develop ideas on how we can reduce our water usage on earth.
