Green House Effect is the second of ten episodes that aim to teach students more about climate change and positively influence their lifestyle to help reduce greenhouse gas production and limit climate change.
In this episode, students will learn about the greenhouse gas effect, a natural process happening on Earth, and how it stabilizes global temperatures to sustain life. There is a delicate balance between stored heat in our atmosphere and heat escaping to space. The perfect level enables Earth to maintain life on this planet. However, humans' actions have broken the balance of the natural greenhouse gas effect. Students will see this process in action through a science experiment and see the implications for the global temperatures of our planet.
This video can be used as a complementary resource to explain the source of climate change and how the greenhouse effect contributes to climate change.
The website provides an experiment students can try at home and a short quiz to test their knowledge about the greenhouse effect.
