Loon follows the first four years of two loon chicks as they grow into adulthood.  The book is very informative providing a wealth of interesting facts accompanied by beautiful illustrations. Two additional pages provide more detailed information about the loon as well as environmental problems affecting this beautiful bird and its habitat.

This picture book will be a great addition to the study of habitats and can easily be incorporated into a lesson on birds.  The pictures provide a good starting point to initiate a discussion regarding environmental threats to our lakes.
