Fish Friends

Description

Fish Friends is specifically designed as a comprehensive 12 lesson resource to support curriculum guidelines in the Atlantic provinces and across Canada.  The resource integrates all subject areas while maintaining a focus on science,  specifically habitat, biodiversity, life cycles, sustainability and stewardship.

Students will:

  • create poetry
  • simulate how much fresh water is in the world
  • create simulations of water pollution, and erosion
  • participate in Guided Imagery
  • examine and learn to interpret fish scales
  • understand what it means to be a fish by using sense of smell
  • create bumper stickers that promote sustainability
  • participate in role play

Within optional Lessons 11 and 12, students will:

  • create ideal conditions for maintaining and hatching fish eggs within an incubator
  • hatch Atlantic Salmon fish eggs
