All Aboard For Global Goals is a series of videos that introduce early childhood students to the Sustainable Development Goals through the animated children’s series Thomas & Friends. The videos introduce children to six of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations. The video Life Lessons and activities aim to raise awareness of the SDGs to help teach younger children why achieving these goals is important for everyone in the world.

Thomas & Friends Life Lessons focuses on six of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals designed to inspire the next generation of global citizens and start meaningful conversations between children and adults. The resource provides video links, discussion ideas, learning activities and helpful links for each of the SDGs listed below.

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education
  • SDG 5 – Gender Equality
  • SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation
  • SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 15 – Life on Land

The resource provides an Early Learning Skills Framework for each of the Global Goals, as well as teacher tips and suggestions for additional resources to extend the learning.

This resource is an excellent tool to introduce global citizenship at an early age.  The messages provided in the videos are easy for children to understand. The videos can be integrated into social studies outcomes related to world issues, and opportunities to extend the learning to include science content are suggested.
